The 101st Japan National Championships (Track & Field), organized by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF), was held from June 23 to 25 at Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka.

Members of the University of Tsukuba Track & Field Team participated in the competition, including Ms. Minori Tsujikawa (fourth-year student in the School of Health and Physical Education) who claimed a victory in the women's discus throw.

The team members made a courtesy visit to President Kyosuke Nagata and Vice President Shin-ichi Tamagawa on July 3. The following members of the Track & Field Team attended the courtesy visit. The team members were accompanied to the courtesy visit by Associate Professor Keigo Ohyama and Associate Professor Satoru Tanigawa of the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences.

All attendees at the courtesy visit reminisced about the events with the board members. When asked about factors that contributed to their achieving personal records, they said they owe it to the university's sporting environment and the teachers' great coaching.

At the end of the meeting, President Nagata and Vice President Tamagawa praised the students for their performance and offered them encouraging words. They expressed their expectations that the members will make the world their stage in the future.
