University delegation led by President Nagata and Vice President BENTON visits the University of Hamburg in Germany
A delegation from the University of Tsukuba led by President Kyosuke Nagata and Vice President BENTON Caroline F. (Global Affairs) made a courtesy visit to the University of Hamburg in Germany for celebrating its 100th anniversary on May 9. The delegation had a meeting with Prof. Dr. Jan Louis, Vice President (Research) and Head of International Affairs of the University of Hamburg in Germany, engaging in an exchange of concrete opinions on future collaboration in related fields.
We concluded a university-level partnership agreement in October 2018. To promote further cooperative research, a workshop on the field of nanoscience, computational optics, disability sciences, and Buddhist studies and a meeting on joint research were held and a visit to related research organizations was made. When President Dieter Lenzen and other faculty members from the University of Hamburg visited Japan last year at the time of signing of the partnership agreement, our faculty members made presentations on research outline for each field to search for the possibility of collaborative research.
Their visit was a great opportunity to further promote and expand exchanges between the two universities.
