T-ACT Activity Report Presentations for the first half period of 2019

Tsukuba Action Project (T-ACT) held its Activity Report Presentations for the first half period of 2019 on November 27. T-ACT is a human resource development support project unique to the University of Tsukuba, which aims to promote students' involvement in social contribution activities through their spontaneous ideas and plans.

There were activity reports on 10 projects of 9 groups out of 19 action projects (student-centered activities) that concluded activities in the first half of AY 2019. For the action projects, T-ACT Action Awards were presented after votes by participants for activities which were appreciated to give enthusiastic expression and to potentially help developing social skills. For citations in the first half of AY 2019, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 1 third prize, 1 special prize, and 4 consolation prizes were conferred.

Various activities were deployed such as exploring learning, introspecting oneself, thinking of university design, and doing their best for what they love in their own way. The first prize was given to "Tsuku-live!", a dance performance activity, which is not only practice to raise performance, but also an activity that could advance various skills personal relationships through what one loves including close consultation and cooperation for all parties concerned, operation of technical equipment, and studying the ins and outs of video creation. Furthermore, planning project reports, conducted by mainly faculty and staff, were also presented along with each related action project.

For volunteer activities, a student who participated in one reported the growth of children and young participants in outdoor activities where various generations cooperated with each other. Moreover, various volunteer activities solicited by T-ACT were also reported and future activities were introduced. This event was a great opportunity to have an experience of deepening collaboration with society and local communities.

There were many attendees from local communities at a poster session and an after-meeting party exchange with students of the University of Tsukuba.
