Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to Japan visits President NAGATA
On April 25, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed ELLOUMI, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to Japan, and his delegation visited President NAGATA, Vice President and Executive Director for Global Affairs BENTON Caroline F., Executive Officer OHNEDA Osamu (Director for Office of Global Initiatives), Professor KIGOSHI Hideo of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences (Director of the Alliance for Research on the Mediterranean and North Africa (ARENA) ), Professor ISODA Hiroko of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, Professor MORIO Takahiro of the Office of Global Initiatives.
During this visit, the Ambassador congratulated President NAGATA once again on his appointment as President of The Japan Association of National Universities. The Ambassador emphasized that the University of Tsukuba is an important strategic partner for Tunisia, and expressed his hope for further strengthening of cooperation between the University and Tunisia in preparation for the 8th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD8) to be held this summer.
After visiting the President, the Ambassador and his delegation toured the facilities of the Alliance for Research on the Mediterranean and North Africa (ARENA) with Professors KIGOSHI, ISODA, KASHIWAGI Kenichi (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences), and Specially Appointed Professor NAKAJIMA Mitsutoshi, and had a friendly discussion with international students. We look forward to continuing to further exchange and collaboration with Tunisia in the future.
