City of Irvine Mayor Visits President NAGATA

On May 13, Mayor Farrah N. Khan from California, the U.S., visited our Tsukuba Campus and met with President NAGATA Kyosuke, Vice President and Executive Director (International Affairs) IKEDA Jun, Executive Officer OHNEDA Osamu (Director General, Bureau of Global Initiatives).

During the discussion, they reviewed past exchanges between the University of California, Irvine (UCI), located in the city of Irvine, and our university, and exchanged views on future cooperation.
The University of California, Irvine (UCI) is one of our Campus-in-Campus partner universities. We have established our overseas office there, which facilitates active educational and research exchanges with our university.

The cities of Irvine and Tsukuba celebrated the 35th anniversary of their sister city partnership this year.

Further collaborations between the City of Irvine, the University of California, Irvine (UCI), and our university are anticipated in the future.
