On August 22, 2024, H.E. Mr. Farhod SALIM, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Japan, paid an official visit to the University of Tsukuba. He was warmly welcomed by President NAGATA Kyosuke, along with Vice President and Executive Director for Global Affairs, Prof. IKEDA Jun; Prof. USUYAMA Toshinobu, Dean of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences; and Director SAKURAI Takeaki from the Office of Global Initiatives.

University of Tsukuba currently maintains an exchange agreement with one university in Tajikistan. However, in early August 2024, new partnerships were formalized with both the Tajik National University and the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda. During the meeting, both parties engaged in meaningful discussions on how to further enhance academic exchange and collaboration in the years to come.
The University of Tsukuba looks forward to deepening ties with institutions in Tajikistan and fostering ongoing academic cooperation in the future.
