TUAN Alumni Meeting Held in Hanoi, Vietnam
On October 12, 2024, Dr. Lan Phuong who is a representative of Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network (TUAN), held a Hanoi alumni meeting in collaboration with local alumni.
TUAN is a network that includes not only former international students, but also Japanese alumni living abroad, as well as current international students and Japanese students and was launched in 2023 with the aim of deepening exchanges among overseas alumni organizations and alumni and connecting them with their alma mater.
In addition to 11 alumni, President NAGATA Kyosuke and Director General OHNEDA Osamu of the Bureau of Global Initiatives participated in this Hanoi alumni meeting in person, Director NOMURA Nakao of the International Exchange Support Office and three current Vietnamese students from Japan, and one Vietnamese alumnus living in the United States also participated online, achieving an exchange that transcends physical distance.
At the meeting, the diverse careers of our graduates were also introduced. Alumni who are active in a wide range of fields shared their experiences and knowledge and discussed how to utilize and develop this network in the future. They explored the possibility of further collaboration and exchanged opinions on future prospects.
In addition, children whose parents are both alumni also participated as special participants, reemphasizing the importance of connections to the next generation.
Efforts will be continued to deepen ties among alumni to further develop our international network.
