President NAGATA Attends the 3rd Japan-India Universities Forum/ Signs the MoU with the Swami Rama Himalayan University

On October 19, President NAGATA Kyosuke, Executive Officer OHNEDA Osamu (Director General, Bureau of Global Initiatives), and Professor SAKURAI Takeaki (Director, Office of Global Initiatives) attended the 3rd Japan-India Universities Forum held in New Delhi, India.

The Forum consisted of three parts: plenary sessions, round table discussions, and bilateral discussions.

In the second session, round table discussions, IIT Bombay and University of Tsukuba co-chaired one of the three groups, with the two universities leading discussions on the common theme of 'Promotion of Japan-India Brain Circulation and Utilization of its Human Resources' as well as 'Initiatives and Challenges in Promoting Study Abroad and Degree Acquisition in Future', 'To expand accepting Indian Females' etc.

In the third session, bilateral meetings were held with six Indian universities, including IIT Bombay and IIT Guwahati, with which the University has agreements, and a lively exchange of views took place with a view to promoting future exchanges.

On the same day, we also held a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for researcher and student exchange and collaborative research with Swami Rama Himalayan University. Swami Rama Himalayan University was represented by Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Vijendra D. Chauhan, Director General, Academic Development, and Prof. (Dr) Mukesh Bijalwan, Registrar. The MOU is expected to promote exchanges with Swami Rama Himalayan University, particularly in the field of Yoga and Ayurveda.

With the 3rd Japan-India Universities Forum and the signing of a MoU with Swami Rama Himalayan University, we will promote further collaboration with Indian higher education institutions in the future.
