University of Tsukuba Unveils Countdown Board for the 151st＋50th Anniversary

The University of Tsukuba created a countdown board to celebrate the 151st anniversary of its inception as Japan’s first state-run institution of higher education in the country’s Meiji era and the 50th anniversary of its establishment as the University of Tsukuba on October 1, 2023.

The countdown board was designed by ARAKI Natsuki, a third-year student in our School of Art and Design whose academic advisor is Professor YAMAMOTO Sari of our Faculty of Art and Design. The board was presented by President NAGATA Kyosuke at a grand unveiling ceremony that took place during the September 30 closing ceremony of Tsukuba Global Science Week 2022.

The countdown board will be placed at the entrance of the Kasuga Area of the University of Tsukuba to promote the 151st＋50th anniversary to people both inside and outside the university.
