How to attend your orientation online
Follow the instructions of your educational organization to attend the orientation.
① The following is a brief description of the three systems that are especially important for taking online courses and orientations. For more information, check "Online class guidance."
- Manaba (Learning Management System)
This system has course pages for each orientation and class, where you can watch videos and materials from the orientation and classes. Detailed instructions and assignment submission for each course may also be done through this system. - TWINS (Educational Information System)
This system enables students to register for classes and view their grades. - KdB (Curriculum Development Support System)
This system enables students to search for and view course syllabi and information on all classes. To understand how to use KDB, read "6 About the viewing of the syllabus by using the Curriculum Scheduling Support System (KdB)" in the " ICT Guide."
*In order to use the above systems (manaba and TWINS), you need your initial password card for "Unified Authentication System."
Distribution of the Unified Authentication System Password Card
Receive the card in person, by mail, or via online storage from each organization on or after September 2 (Mon.) for students enrolling in September and on or after September 13 (Fri.) for students enrolling in October.
In case of cards undelivered
If you have not received your initial password card for the unified authentication by the following dates, check the contact desk, write your name and examination number, and inform the corresponding contact desk that you have not received your initial password card.
September enrollment: September 9 (Monday)
October enrollment: September 24 (Tuesday)
② The following shows the procedure for taking an online orientation.
As an example, we will explain how to take the "Fall Semester Common Orientation". We will use "Online class guidance" and "ICT Guide", which contain detailed system procedures.
- First, set up the necessary settings to take online classes and orientations.
Click "Online class guidance" , check the "Procedures for taking online classes" on the same page, and then set the following two points.
1) Read about unified authentication and change your password.
2) Test sending and receiving Microsoft 365 email (@s address).
* If you encounter any problems about registration or others, contact us using the "Contact (Inquiry Form)." - Next, in order to take the "Fall Semester Common Orientation" using manaba (the learning management system), read carefully " 1.4 manaba" in "Online class guidance", and log in to manaba.
- When you log in to manaba, you will find a list of courses on "My Page." The courses and orientations you take will appear all as courses on "My Page." This time, click "Fall Semester Common Orientation" on the "Course list" of "My page."
- Take the following items prepared in the "Fall Semester Common Orientation."
【Important Point】
After clicking "Fall Semester Common Orientation", the course page will open. Click "Content list" at the bottom right of "Content (in the order of update)" to view the contents more easily.

This is a setting that will be required when watching videos of online courses from now on. Register immediately after you receive the "Microsoft 365 Password" according to the "Procedure to sign in to Microsoft 365 and prepare for online lessons."
*The "Microsoft 365 password" will be given together with the "Unified Authentication System Password Card."
When you take online courses be sure to read the "Online class guidance" and "ICT Guide" for detailed explanation of each system.
